THIS IS FOR DOD CLASSIC, NOT SOURCE.

For those who can't find theirs...

Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg Empty
PostSubject: Re: Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg   Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 11:55 am

And my autoexec.cfg:

-------------------------------------------------------
// Barcode's User Config File

// Also needs doing:
// 1) Right click DoD in steam games listing | Properties | Launch Options
// 2) -freq 60 -noforcemspd -noforcemaccel -noforceparms
// This gets around the vsync (vertical sync) problem and mouse acceleration problem.
// Otherwise set vsync off in vid card options. Freq should be the same as monitor refresh rate
// which will be 60Hz for most TFT monitors

// 3) You HAVE to go into your graphics settings and make sure that vertical sync (vsync)
// is turned off either just for DoD or overall. Otherwise you will never get more
// than 60 fps.

//To display fps info

net_graph "3"
net_graphpos "1"
net_scale "5"

// Rates
// Notes:
// Rate should be (connection speed (bytes) -10%) /8
// cl_cmdrate is upload. Capped at 60
// cl_updaterate is download - critical for choke and ploss. Tweak this one.
// ex_interp - set to zero and it automatically adjusts (allegedly)
// Could also try both rates at 101. Depends on speed tho.
// Higher will give smoother play, but check against the choke/ploss

ex_interp "0"
rate "20000"
cl_cmdrate "100"
cl_updaterate "100"

// These two lines make sure you get as high an fps as possible.

//fps_max "101"
//fps_modem "101"

// Note: The developer switch allows fps to go above 100. Set the fps_max to 500
// so that you get the most possible. As of 01-01-2007 gives about 170fps on my rig

Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg Empty
PostSubject: Re: Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg   Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg EmptyFri Sep 24, 2010 5:45 pm

I've found my old configs - question is where to put them? ( I do not recognize the folder structure when having downloaded the hole game from steam...)

Nige - a bit of help, please?

Btw.. nice to see so many old ppls in here :-)

PostSubject: Re: Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg   Config.cfg and autoexec.cfg EmptySat Sep 25, 2010 3:11 am

Yey! He surfaced! Ello mate

Right, mine are in....

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\vbhol\day of defeat\dod

Now the x86 bit is because I am running a 64 bit version of windows, so you may just have it in "Program Files". The "vbhol" is my steam account name, so that will be whatever yours is.

These directories DO NOT EXIST until you have started dod for the first time, which catches a few of us out including me and Paul. So start up dod, start a server ("new game"), let it load and then shut down dod. Then go looking for the directory and you will find it has an autoexec.cfg in it already which you just overwrite.

Hope that helps.

Couple of things to note:
1) You will need to change the player name Wink
2) You might want to set it to read-only once you have got it tweaked right for you
3) Its set to take screenshots at the end of every round. Found one the other day where I had a pretty decent score and nicey had 0-8 Wink
